Manchester City have signed forward Vivianne Miedema, 27, following her departure from Arsenal in the summer.
The women’s Super League’s top scorer scored 79 league goals in 105 appearances for the Gunners in her seven years.
The Dutch foreigner joined Arsenal from Bayern Munich in 2017 and broke tactics with the club by mutual agreement when her existing contract expired.

City have reportedly turned down interest from clubs in Europe and North America for Miedema to secure his signature.
“I think after thinking a lot about my long career after leaving Arsenal, the most important thing that came to my mind is that I was looking to be part of a team that plays smart football. I think that currently, in women’s football, City have a transparent philosophy, last season they clearly did well,” Miedema said on the club’s official website.
If I look at how I need to play, I see that it suits me. In the end, it is obviously also a great advantage to stay in the WSL. I think it was the most productive solution for me.
