2020 college football rankings: NCAA’s top 25 picks after opening Saturday

The first Saturday of the 2020 school football season is already on the books, it is not the busiest day on the grid, nor the hectic maximum, but afterwards there were doubts about whether there would even be football this fall due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is wonderful to return to have a weekend with pigskin.

AAFC, Conference USA and Sun Belt teams were among those who took action on Saturday. The first weekend of the season is not yet over, as the Navy will receive BYU in what is expected to be a competitive game on Monday night.

In Week 2, there will be more in the box for the first time this fall, as the ACC and the big 12 are about to open their season.

Because the Associated Press included all the groups in its top 25 preseason vote (including those from meetings like Big Ten and Pac-12 that would possibly not play this fall), there were no groups ranked in action this weekend.Groups will temporarily enter grades because long-running editions will not take into account groups whose season has been canceled.

Here’s a look at what the rankings might look like now that convention groups that don’t play might not be included.

Saturday round-up

Of the groups that won on Saturday, chances are there’s only one in the AP Top 25 ballotArrayIt’s Memphis, which was almost voted on the pre-season ballot that included convention groups that might not play this fall.

The Tigers opened the 2020 season with a 37-24 victory over the Arkansas epivot, which was strong enough evidence that they will qualify when the next edition of the survey is published.

Memphis amassed 502 yards on offense, with Quarterback Brady White 26 36 for 275 yards, 4 touchdowns and one interception; and referred to several of the Tigers’ weapons, adding the offensive part Rodrigues Clark (105 yards on the floor and a touchdown) and open receivers Sean Dykes (137 yards in reception and two touchdowns) and Damonte Coxie (90 yards at reception and one touchdown) had forged clues.

“That’s what I like about Memphis, what guy are we going to let go of?” said White, according to Chris Vannini of Athletic.

It was Ryan Silverfield’s first win since he picked the Memphis head coach last December. Now he will seek to lead the Tigers to smart fortune in the AAFC, as they are one of the most productive groups of the convention this season.a smart start and be rewarded through the survey electorate.

Many other groups that will advance to the next AP Top 25 vote will likely be the ones that have not yet played, however, they will take the places occupied in the past through the Big Ten and Pac-12 groups.

Although SMU is probably not ranked, this is the AAFC team that can have a smart season and may be in the survey image sometime this year. The Mustangs opened their season with a 31-24 victory over the state of Texas on Saturday..

SMU quarterback Shane Buechele is an NFL draft prospect who spent his first three seasons in Texas before moving in and winning first-team All-AAC honors for the Mustangs last year.In his first game, he completed 26 of 36 for 367 yards, one landing and two interceptions.

It probably wouldn’t have been Buechele’s most productive performance, but his only landing from a 51-yard pass to Reggie Roberson Jr. that left the Mustangs behind in the third quarter, who never gave up.

SMU plays in Memphis on October 3 and No.20 in Cincinnati on October 24th, either at home. These will be the most important tests of the Mustangs season and deserve the best they could climb the standings this season.
