Did you know that the NBA Draft Lottery is rigged? In fact, the Internet does. You can find a theory that helps manipulate almost all lotteries with just a few minutes of Google search. Conspiracies occur when large market groups win and when small market groups win. The two iterations of the New Orleans professional basketball team won it and, of course, the Hornets and Pelicans won the conspiracy remedy of the Twitter crack team. When the groups do not win, the enthusiasts assume without delay that the league has conspired against them.
And well, the NBA can do a bigger task to stifle root theories. It’s not very good when, say, Dikembe Mutombo congratulates a team for winning a lottery that has not yet taken place, but optics rarely align perfectly with reality. The fact is, manipulating the NBA Draft Lottery would be almost impossible. In addition to criminal fraud, the 14 competing groups have on-site provisions for the draw. Media is also provided and the drawing is filmed.
And then the consultation to calm those affected. Overcoming these obstacles would require at least the cooperation of several league leaders, on-site protection and mechanics involved in the operation of the lottery machine. You can’t tell anyone who honestly believes the lottery is rigged doesn’t mean they’ve received mountains of evidence that have long been rejected to prove their irregularity.
So, instead, let’s take another path. In order for conspiracy theories to emerge regardless of the lottery winner, let’s preemptively place the excuses these theorists will use when this happens. Some of them will be repetitive. Others will contradict others. These are the conspiracies we’re facing. They don’t pretend to make sense. What it does is that when a lottery winner is nominated and the fees start flying, you can consult this consultant and locate the explanations used by skeptics and find it as ridiculous.
