2025 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Classes: Cam Ward

The 2025 quarterback class has been perceived as weak by many NFL teams and fans around the league. That being said, it looks like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are projected to be taken at the top of the first round this year. Below, I’ll be looking at where Ward stacks up in my 2025 dynasty rookie rankings based on his profile.

Coming into the 2024 season, not many expected Ward to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football. As a senior, this was Ward’s first time playing in the ACC as he had just transferred from Washington State. Ward played well as a Junior, throwing for 3,736 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. When making the jump to Miami, Ward got even better. In his 2024 season, Ward threw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

My main challenge is that Ward had 10 interceptions in 2021 and nine in 2022. Even if he could improve, he still makes too harmful releases. When you turn on the band, you will constantly see Ward put the ball in danger several times consistent with the game. At the University, Ward’s unreal arm talent can end those passes or, in the worst case, eliminate. Once it reached the NFL, those harmful releases will lead to interceptions at a higher pace.

Regarding the 2025 NFL draft, I’d be surprised if Ward isn’t a top-five pick. He’s a wonderful talent, of course, but it has more to do with the scarcity of the room right now. According to the NFL’s Mock Draft database, Ward has an overall overall range. This turns out to be a consensus at this time and the price of the Ward dynasty.

By being the first overall pick, Ward will have an extensive lease, propping up his dynasty value. The Tennessee Titans aren’t an ideal landing spot by any means, but I wouldn’t say it’s detrimental to Ward’s career.

With Ward, I am a player with a much upper roof, but a low floor. For this reason, Ward is my QB2 in the classification of the recruits of the Superflex 2025 dynasty. In a format that is based so strongly on the cultivation room, I am not willing to run the risk. In a 1QB format, however, Ward is my QB1. The rooms that have a decrease value will have to be located up to make a difference.
