On Saturday, Chelsea will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

Chelsea reserved their spot at the centrepiece after a 3–1 win over Man United.

Arsenal beat Man City 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Before the FA Cup final, L’Equipe spoke to Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Giroud explained how he planned his long career at Chelsea next season, especially after Timo Werner’s arrival at the club.

Will Giroud get many minutes next season? Of course, Tammy Abraham is also vying for a starting spot in the Chelsea XI.

For registration, Giroud recently agreed to a contract extension at Stamford Bridge next season.

However, the 33-year-old striker admits he can leave Chelsea after the FA Cup final opposed to Arsenal. He said:

I still have a year to go to my chelsea contract. If I’m at Chelsea, I’ll be happy.

If I don’t, I’ll be challenged.

I can still play in a top league for two years. I don’t set limits.

I had an argument with Arsene Wenger. He told me that he had noticed that I played well until I was 35 because, as I was given more years, my game would not be penalized because it is not based on speed.

While Giroud has pointed out that he can leave Chelsea this summer, the French striker has also revealed his confidence that he can still do a task for Les Bleus in 2020-21.

That said, Chelsea already have for the Champions League next season.

However, following Timo Werner’s arrival, Giroud hopes to reduce the order at Stamford Bridge. He said:

Let’s be clear, this arrival is one more motivation, and it is inevitable that the club will hire a striker.

Chelsea is a great club, he spends cash for the team and hoped someone would come.

With [Hakim] Ziyech and Werner, Chelsea will strive to be more competitive. Well, if you’d told me a player from my profile coming up, I’d have been worried. That’s not the case.

So, while the groups play in combination in front of us, it’s not bad to have a big, a point that can make the connection. But I’m not naive: Werner didn’t get up to sit on the bench.
