Frank Lampard revealed that he had phoned Christian Pulisic to offer him the number 10 blouse in Chelsea after Willian left the club.
Eden Hazard had worn the figure on the back of his shirt in the past, while American Pulisic was recruited as a long-term replacement for the Belgian.

POTENTIAL TRAINING: 4-5-1
The ultimate variety is the maximum defensive setup, which you wouldn’t expect to see yet, which can be useful if you protect an advantage from a strong offensive opponent.
James, Silva, Zouma and Chilwell remain the 4 most sensitive, however, Azpilicueta would begin as a right-back in this lineup to allow James a more complex role.
The five in midfield would put Jorginho in the stands, Kante and Kovacic in front of him, with Mason Mount and James as great midfielders.
Giroud would get the go-ahead as a target of the man looking for the inevitable balls that accompany such a defensive formation.
POTENTIAL TRAINING: 3-4-3
It’s a lineup that Lampard has also played a lot and would allow for more offensive players.
I would use the same 3 sides as the 3-5-2, my midfield would be Kante and Kovacic in center positions, with Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right and Pulisic on the left.
You can then use Havertz on the right, with Werner on the left and Olivier Giroud as the target.
This can provide a better balance between attack and defense, if open midfielders were disciplined in their defensive duties.
POTENTIAL TRAINING: 4-2-3-1
Against the most productive teams, Chelsea will seek to play attacking football, but will probably opt for two more advanced midfielders.
Using the same back as the -3-3, Kante will be accompanied through Matthew Kovacic on the double pivot.
Havertz then assumed a bachelor role in the No. 10, with Pulisic, Ziyech and Werner in the attack.
POTENTIAL TRAINING: 3-5-2
There has been much talk that Werner can play the role of solo striker in the Premier League.
I can, but Chelsea have a chance to play with two strikers in a 3-5-2 formation.
For me, that would come with a Back-three of Zouma on the left, Silva in the middle and Azpilicueta on the right.
Chilwell and James then supply the width like a back wing.
Midfielder 3 can consist of Kante in the defensive role, Havertz and Ziyech, any of whom revel much in the position.
POTENTIAL TRAINING: 4-3-3

Against weaker groups where Lampard will play opposite deep, crowded defensive lines, he will use the 4-3-3 with two No8s.
