Arsenal has reportedly completed the medical examination of Lille’s central defense Gabriel Magalhaes to the Times.

The 22-year-old is in first place after entering the scene in France, Napoli, PSG and Manchester United are reportedly also interested.

But Arsenal appears to have stamped its signing for what is expected to be a 22 million pound (40 million Australian dollar) payment amounting to 27 million pounds (49 million AUs dollars), adding bonuses.

Veteran Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted the deal is safe.

Lille’s president, Gerard Lopez, told reporters earlier in the week that a resolution was expected for this weekend.

Villa Celtic champion

Aston Villa was England’s second-biggest spender last year, however, a disappointing season saw them escape relegation on the last day.

They are now returning to moving waters, with Celtic’s French striker Odsonne Edouard as a primary target.

The 22-year-old striker scored 28 goals last season when Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title.

Villa is expected to offer the Glasgow club 30 million pounds, according to The Sun.

Crystal Palace and Leicester are also on the hunt, while Arsenal was connected to the young pistol in the previous month.
