A new ice rink will be installed in TraffordCity which will be one of the largest services in the UK. The ice rink will be operated through Planet Ice and will also be remodeled into a multi-purpose event space, according to the developers.
The venue, which will be called TraffordCity Ice Arena, will be built alongside Chill Factore and iFLY. The three-acre progression will be situated on the former site of the Soccer Dome that opened through Peel Waters last year for long-term recreational activities. Progressions. . . Peel says more highlights and photographs of the proposed site will be released closer to the presentation of the plans to Trafford City Council.
The offering will also include several varied and inclusive on-site food and beverage offerings, adding takeout options, a “chic” family restaurant and a high-end sports bar. The deal follows the recent announcement that Peel Waters has contracted Tartan Leisure to offer the first indoor surfing destination in the north of England, which will also be located in Trafford City.

Peel says the new recreational and occasion destination on ice “will boost TraffordCity’s developing portfolio of recreational offerings and sporting experiences, which already includes skiing, snowboarding, climbing, skydiving and the home of Trafford Golf. “
At the same time, they are also expected to soon start painting at Therme Manchester, the UK’s first urban wellness centre. ICITIES Director Nick Payne said: “This is our first major task and our vision to expand sports and recreational stadiums. We already have a strong partnership with Planet Ice, and ice skating will be the cornerstone of many of our endeavors like this at TraffordCity.
“This arena will be our showcase and we hope to attract other allied sports and entertainment operators to this project. Where we can, we would like to include facilities that educate and entertain children and the wider communities.
“Across the UK, there is a general lack of top-notch services for many event space operators, such as virtual reality, esports, racquet sports, as well as screenings and entertainment. This task at TraffordCity, like many others we plan to develop, will fill that need.
“We hope our development we will add to the community and be a significant addition to TraffordCity which is already a world class retail and leisure destination.”
Peel Waters Chief Executive James Whittaker added: “As well as boosting the local and tourism economy and attracting investment to the region, we are committed to expanding jobs and opportunities for our local community. Through our long-term vision for TraffordCity, Peel has helped create 17,500 jobs within the destination and plans to increase them to 33,000 over the next 20 years.
“This is great news to start off the year and 2024 promises to be another extremely exciting year for Peel Waters and TraffordCity.”

Situated next to Chill Factore and within easy reach of the M60, our Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester consumers are all close by. »
The estimated track structure time and occasion will be approximately 12 to 15 months once the team begins work on site.
