A week before Christmas, a woman found a baby dumped in a rubbish bin in Seville.
The harrowing cases surrounding the discovery of the bathrough through a local woman have given way to joy. The bathrough, discovered in Los Palacios, Seville, on December 18, has now opened a new bankruptcy in his life with his adoptive family.
On the night of December 18, a resident of Los Palacios, while throwing away his garbage, was startled by the screams coming from a container.
In an act of quick thinking, another citizen was alerted, leading to the rescue of the baby, who still had her umbilical cord attached. She was then taken to the Virgen de Valme Hospital and admitted to the neonatal unit for several days.
“There will be no shortage of hugs, caresses and smiles those first days of life,” said Carmen María Molina, first deputy mayor and delegate for social action of the City Council of Los Palacios and Villafranca.
He revealed that the baby, named Nieves in honor of the city’s patron saint, was admitted with symptoms of hypothermia, absolutely naked and wrapped in a garbage bag. Surprisingly, after the first critical hours, she is “in the best condition. “
Despite a traumatic beginning, Nieves’ story took a positive turn. Since December 24 he has been in the care of his adoptive parents and on Thursday he was discharged from the hospital with his medical leave.
The Ministry of Equality of the Junta de Andalucía has revealed that these parents have recently held their “guardianship for the purpose of adoption”. This provision is provisional for six months, after which, according to the legal protocols, it will be definitively adopted.
The incident not only highlighted Nieves’ plight but also the solidarity of the Los Palacios community, as evidenced through the numerous adoption requests.
