Aberdeen defender Nicky Devlin will wear a face mask in today’s Premiership clash against County Ross.
The full-back suffered a small fracture to his cheekbone in the 1-0 win over Motherwell before the break.
Devlin received a stray boot in the face while guarding a corner from Motherwell and had to be substituted after just 22 minutes.
Aberdeen interim manager Peter Leven has shown that the 30-year-old will wear a mask for his injury today.
Leven said: “Nicky had a small fracture after being sent off in the Motherwell game.
“He’ll wear a face for the game.
“Nicky is fine. “
Leven will be on the bench for the decider against Ross County as the search for a new manager through the Pittodrie hierarchy continues.
Aberdeen chief executive Alan Burrows has said the club intends to appoint a new manager in the recent overseas break.
Donations missed this deadline.
Elfsborg manager Jimmy Thelin has withdrawn from the race to remain in Sweden, while Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill insists he will focus on the national team.
Rijeka boss Zeljko Sopic, 49, linked to Pittodrie’s job, recently said he had no interest in becoming Aberdeen’s next manager.
Sopic took Rijeka to the first Croatian flight.
Burrows issued a statement on Thursday and insisted the search for a new coach was “entering its final stages. “
However, the Dons are permanent stewards of a gigantic game opposed to Ross County.
Aberdeen are just three points adrift of second-placed Ross County, who are in the relegation play-off spot.
Leven has a nearly full squad to face the Staggies, with defender Slobodan Rubezic (knee) absent.
Leven said, “Everybody’s fine. “
