Aberdeen manager Neil Warnock has helped Bojan Miovski reach the 30-goal mark before the end of the Premiership campaign.
Miovski has scored 20 so far this season, when he scored in Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Rangers at Ibrox.
It was an energetic performance by the Dons in Warnock’s first game on the bench, after he was named coach of the Pittodrie team until the end of the season on Monday.
North Macedonian forward Miovski cancelled out Rabbi Matondo’s opener on the stroke of half-time, with Todd Cantwell going on to net a second half winner for the Glasgow side.
After his first takeover, Warnock insists he is very happy with his first impressions of Miovski.
Warnock said, “I told you yesterday; “I haven’t noticed any of you in the Premier League, let alone Scotland. “
“I think he’s going to score 30 goals for me this season.
“I said, ‘I’m glad the window is closed. Now you have given to me and I have been given. “
“He’s great, a smart kid with a smart attitude. Normally, there are no strikers who paint hard, but he does.
“He gives us characteristics when he leaves, so we can play forward if we need to. “
Although the Dons lost in the 7th minute thanks to Matondo’s goal, Warnock was very happy with the way his team responded.
Warnock felt the Reds had evolved in the game, but asked them to show more courage with the ball.
He added: “I think the app is excellent.
“It’s difficult to score a goal in a position like this, but I think the centre-backs were great, they kept us great and calm in defence.
“We played the game and scored at that moment.
“I think if we had stepped up in one or two spaces in the second half, we could have caused a problem.
“But I’m satisfied with the application. The enthusiasts were wonderful in the area.
“I can’t ask any more. It was my kind of game really.
“They have a wonderful attitude. They can do it in the final third.
“They were a little bit nervous. I’m not sure if it was the occasion or not with a couple of the younger lads.
“But I had the idea that we had taken a step forward and had some opportunities.
“That first minute in the second half, I thought should have been goal really. Later on there were a couple of things, then we had the free-kick at the end which wasn’t far away.
“They’ve given them smart players, haven’t they? Let’s be fair.
“But we don’t appreciate them.
“In the first few minutes, one or two guys showed them too much respect.
“But then we got a grip and improved as the game went on really.”
Warnock insists he would welcome the chance to get the chance alongside Philippe Clement before the end of the campaign, which would lead to the Dons finishing in the top six.
The veteran Englishman insists he is not looking too far ahead, adding: “I thought there were a lot of pluses for me and I can look forward to the season. I would like to play these again before the end of the season. I hope the lads do.
“I don’t know. At 75 years old, you only watch the next game, don’t you?You don’t look much further, do you?
