Liverpool FC and several former club players paid tribute to former coach Gerard Houllier following the sad news of his death at the age of 73.
The Frenchman enjoyed a fortune at Anfield between 1998 and 2004, which led the club to a hat-trick with FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup victories in the 2000/01 season.
The likes of Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen have enjoyed one of the bureaucracies of their careers under Houllier, and have turned to social media to pay homage to their former chief.
It is a sad day for Liverpool fans and for all those interested in football in general.
Everyone’s mind at Liverpool Football Club moves into Gerard’s circle of family and friends.
