Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku scored as Inter continued his 100 percent start in Serie A and extended a recent record forged in derbies against local rivals AC Milan with a 2-0 win.
(Football news)
A deflected blow from Brozovic four minutes from the moment and a late triumph from Lukaku settled a game that Antonio Conte’s men were still more likely to win.
Milan, the team of the house designated in San Siro shared, produced only one framed shot and comfortably kept at bay through Inter after the first goal.
The Rossoneri have already lost two of their first four coaching matches Marco Giampaolo and have failed to beat Inter in seven consecutive derbies.
The first major came when Lautaro Martínez slid Lukaku into the arc, the Belgian striker’s right leg shot forced a shot from Gianluigi Donnarumma.
A bigger shot came in the 21st minute, but Danilo D’Ambrosio can only hit the post just 4 yards on the rebound after Donnarumma made a reaction stop for Martinez, the opening created through Stefano Sensi’s intelligent reduction.
Inter almost paid the penalty for the failures when Hakan Calhanoglu discovered the net, but the purpose was overturned as Kwadwo Asamoah’s poor disarm was deemed to have struck Franck Kessie’s arm in his 100th appearance in Milan.
D’Ambrosio’s idea had amended her with a very good kick in the head that was stored through Donnarumma and folded through Martinez on the rebound, but an off-game flag interrupted the movement.
Between broke, a shot of Brozovic from the edge of the area diverted Rafael Leao to beat Donnarumma after Sensi’s kick.
And the victory sealed 12 minutes from the end with Lukaku leading a well-calculated headbutt to the farthest corner of Nicolo Barella’s center left wing.
Matteo Politano’s roller hit the crossbar and Antonio Candreva’s deflected shot bounced off the post while Inter threatened a third, leaving Milan to reflect on a forgettable functionality that also saw Theo Hernandez hit the wood in the last few minutes.
What does that mean? Juventus loom for Inter assured
After a poor start in the Champions League against Slavia Prague, this confident victory will be a significant seasoning for Inter.
They have won all four Serie A matches, awarding once in the process, and the Italy Derby against champions Juventus on 6 October is already seen as a massive early check of their Scudetto credentials.
For Milan, for his part, is that the scrutiny of Giampaolo’s tactic will disappear after this defeat.

Lukaku makes his mark
After taking blanks off Udinese and Slavia, another frustrating exit for Lukaku seemed to come when Donnarumma impressively rejected him in the first half and produced an aerial effort in time.
But the former Manchester United star threw a good header to close the win and then showed a clever bonding game to prepare for The opposing Polytane effort to the long. It’s a demonstration I needed.
Leao has the desired impact
Leao had his first start in Milan on a great occasion, named in the opening line-up of Lucas Paqueta and Ante Rebic when they had only played 15 minutes before that match.
But he didn’t feel like he was looking for him, he diverted Brozovic’s intention to a single punch and failed to record a shot in attack, despite 83 minutes of play.
