AC Milan’s head coach, Stefano Pioli, has been extended to his contract for two years, the club announced.
The deal will keep the 54-year-old at the Giant’s Rate of Serie A until June 2022.
After taking office in October 2019, Pioli’s initial contract only until the end of the season.
But former Lazio and Inter coach effectively led Milan in the coronavirus pandemic and led the club to fifth place in the Serie A qualifier.
Milan’s general manager Ivan Gazidis said Pioli had had an influence on the team and the club in general.

Pioli said he is very happy to continue advising on the development of the team.
