AC Milan president Paolo Sacroni admits it’s tough to lose yet another derby as Inter Milan won the Serie A title.
Speaking to FCInterNews journalists, the Rossoneri president also congratulated Inter on their win.
Inter took advantage of a great opportunity on Monday night.
The Nerazzurri won the Serie A title in the derby – it was the first time they or their city rivals had done so.
There is no doubt that Inter will be champions sooner or later.
But the symbolic importance of winning that game against Milan is really huge.
Inter were highly motivated to win the name in the derby. Conversely, the Rossoneri were also obviously motivated to control and prevent them.
This follows former Chelsea defender Fiyako Tomori’s intense celebrations when he scored a late goal for Milan.
And it came about when the Rossoneri players lost their minds. Two Milan players earned red cards, as did Inter’s Denzel Dumfries.
Monday’s match was the sixth consecutive derby in which Inter have won.
Milan last won a derby in October 2022. Since then, Inter have beaten their city rivals in the Italian Super Cup, Serie A and the Champions League semi-finals.
Rossoneri president Scaroni admitted that “Monday was a very complicated day for us. “
“Sometimes we would like to win the Inter derby,” he continued.
Scaroni went on to say that “it was a smart match. ” There’s no denying that the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win was an exciting and entertaining encounter.
“But instead of just looking [Monday], I would look at our season as a whole. “
“Maybe it’s not wonderful, but it’s good: we’re second in the championship, which is a wonderful result. “
Scaroni said that “Inter deserved to win the title”.
“I have to congratulate them,” the Rossoneri president said. Especially Moratta and Antonello, with whom I paint in the stadium. “
