The winner of Theo Hernandez’s most sensitive time allowed AC Milan to finish the year at the most sensitive time in Serie A after beating Lazio 3-2 on Wednesday.
All milan players piled up at Hernandez to celebrate, fortunately, after their last winner. Milan had missed a two-goal lead and seemed ready to enter the winter break of their local rival, Inter Milan, who had won 2–1 for Hellas Verona before. .
Instead, the Rossoneri entered the season one point above Inter.
Milan had made a quick start, taking the lead in the 10th minute when a corner hit from the left and Ante Rebio headed to the post of the moment.
And the attack seemed to happen as planned when Hakan Alhano-lu doubled Milan’s merit just seven minutes later from the penalty spot after Lazio Patric’s defense accused Rebio of committing a foul.
However, Lazio returned to the game in position when he won a penalty on his own after Pierre Kalulu hit Joaquín Correa from behind.
Gianluigi Donnarumma stored the shot from Ciro Immobile’s point. Luis Alberto took the lead in the rebound.
The return ended in 59. Immobile had scored in all of his 12 games, and did so back with a leaning practice in the lower right corner after a perfectly smooth pass by Sergej Milinkovic-Savi.
Milan approached twice to repair his lead in the last few minutes and yet did so when Hernandez headed to a corner at the post close to cause wild party scenes.
INTER-FORM
Goals from Lautaro Martínez and Kriniar of Milan helped Inter achieve their seventh consecutive league victory.
Inter broke the impasse seven minutes from the moment with an impressive volley of Martinez to the post of the moment of central Achraf Hakimi.
But a series of mistakes at Inter led Verona to tie at 63. Ashley Young allowed Davide Faraoni to score a center that Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic gave the impression of holding in his hands, but he looked for it and the ball ended up between the legs of an Okriniar, who gave the impression of being frozen, while Ivan Ilio touched him.
He issued his mistake six minutes later when he headed a marcelo Brozovic center.
RACE FOR THE THIRD
Roma took 3rd place after goals from Gianluca Mancini, Edin D’eko and Jordan Veretout helped them beat Cagliari 3-2.
The capital team finished the year at seven editions of first place, with Sassuolo at one point after a 3–2 win at Sampdoria.
Napoli rose from 3 to 5 after a 1-1 draw at home to Torino, which was threatened with relegation.
Napoli, however, played one game less than the previous ones.
