AC Milan vice-president Franco Baresi welcomed the Europa League draw against Slavia Prague.
Milan will face Slavia in the round of 16.
Baresi said: “At the end of the draw we had a 50/50 chance of placing Bayer Leverkusen, everything went well, but we shouldn’t underestimate Slavia, in the foreign field we shouldn’t underestimate anyone to go far. We will have to prepare as well as we can. Can.
“Yesterday we suffered a painless defeat (against Rennes), but we have to try to do better. Compared to the first leg, the goal is different, but we still have to aim in the same way.
“When you concede a lot of goals, everyone has to do better, that requires more attention and from everyone, the defensive phase requires a spirit of sacrifice, team spirit and collaboration. If we can do that, we’re halfway there, because we want players to hurt their warring parties on offense.
“Milan have to be ambitious, we have to do our best and if we do well we can compete with all the rivals. We have to believe in ourselves and we have the qualities to aspire to life goals. In general, we play offensively and create a lot, but on the outside field we want to be more compact and united. Hopefully all the defenders will be back soon, so we can give the coach more options. “
