MILAN (AP) – AC Milan’s best start in the Serie A season ended in a 3–3 draw against Roma on Monday, but the Rossoneri still took a two-point lead over Napoli and Sassuolo.
Roma definer Marash Kumbulla tied six minutes from the end after an involuntary one-handed finish from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who tried to clear a corner and redirected the ball to the moment pole where Kumbulla hastened to hammer it.
Rome is ninth, Milan to five issues.
Edin Dueko and Jordan Veretout, on penalties, scored for Rome.
Ibrahimovic scored twice for Milan, who also received a goal from Alexis Saelemaekers with Rafael Leo scoring two of the Rossoneri.
Ibrahimovic only needed one tap to locate the net after Leo’s pass over the most sensitive less than two minutes into San Siro.
Milan ran out of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and winger Jens Petter Hauge after both players tested positive for coronavirus and Donnarumma failed when D’eko did the 1–1.
Substitute goalkeeper Ciprian T-ut-u could not finish a corner, allowing the ball to triumph in D’eko, who slathered over Alessio Romagnoli for a headbutt at the time of the post.
Saelemaekers scored the purpose of Milan’s moment after his break behind paintings on the left wing and a skilled leo centre.
Veretout tied for Roma with a penalty of 71 after a questionable foul through Ishmael Bennacer.
Ibrahimovic then thought he had sealed the win with a penalty at 79 after an equally dubious foul by Gianluca Mancini, but the Swedish superstar is to blame for Kumbulla’s last goal, which also marked the triumph of Roma’s 2–1 win over the Young Boys in the Europa League last week.
It is the first game since a new decree came into force that prohibits stadium enthusiasts because of a momentary wave of coronavirus infections.
