The 2020 NFL season in New England will be unconventional for more than one reason.
In addition to the multitude of adjustments made through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Patriots will face the challenge of triumphing over significant staff turnover in low season, whether for their squad and training staff. The most notable start, of course, Tom Brady, who had been New England’s starting quarterback since the 2001 season.
Football is thought to be the ultimate team sport, but this season’s Patriots will really want to have all their hands on deck if they want to succeed in the playoffs and potentially organize a deep race. All players, coaches, coaches, etc. will want to dominate their roles, however, NFL quarterback-turned-NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky believes one member of the organization is above the others as the vital maximum in 2020.
“The organization’s top user this year is Josh McDaniels,” Orlovsky told the New York Post. “The ultimate user of Cam Newton’s good fortune is not a player. It’s McDaniels. “
It is quite possible that the Patriots will go as far as Newton can take them this season, which is a great demand for a player who is entering his first season with a new team and with a mediocre distribution at most productive to work with. That said, some offensive gaps may simply be overcome through high-level game planning, and McDaniels will have the luxury of running with a quarterback with an exclusive skill set.
We’ll start seeing what McDaniels has up his sleeve on Sunday when the Patriots start their normal season against the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium.
