Teams can continue to be added, but, barring a significant trade, anything done at this point is unlikely to replace the overall build of the team. While only the Cleveland Browns have replaced coordinators, each and every team in the AFC North is in the process of reshuffling at least one position organization on its defense, the effects of which can play a significant role in determining the division.
The Browns hired Jim Schwartz to lead their defense and also remade the defensive line. Notably, Jadeveon Clowney left and the Browns signed 8 defensive linemen and have reason to add more.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have made some radical adjustments to their linebackers and cornerbacks. Linebackers have been treated as firm and flexible while taking a multifaceted approach, bringing in flexible agents and the draft in an attempt to turn relative weakness into strength.
There are a lot of points that come into play with the Baltimore Ravens. They haven’t seen the return on investment they had hoped for in recent years, as some of their most productive players have aged. Now, they’re looking to rejuvenate while spending less thanks to Lamar Jackson’s contract extension. The Ravens look strong in the middle, but they have questions to answer either in the corner and with their more sensible defenders.
At Incinnati, the Bengals look to manage success, selecting and opting for players they can retain. Both starting point guards have signed lucrative contracts to play in the NFC South, so they are looking to retain what has been one of the most effective defensive backs in the league.

T. J. Watt and Alex Highsmith are the most productive starting duo in the division. Watt has reason to be the most productive defender in the league and Highsmith has a wonderful player against him. With Cam Heyward in the middle, they form a terrifying trio.
The Steelers have questions about them. They may want to sign another veteran, but they added Nick Herbig to the draft and still have Quincy Roche, who might be better prepared to make a contribution this season.
The Bengals are led by Trey Hfinishrickson, but they’ve made a great defensive rotation. Sam Hubbard is a solid point guard who can protect the run and kick it internally as he passes.
They drafted Myles Murphy in the first round, which gives him everything Lou Anarumo needs at the position. Murphy may have the opportunity to run from anywhere on the defensive front. The Browns are so low because of the hard truth they faced last year when Garrett missed time due to an injury sustained in a car accident. This has unsettled the entire defense and they have yet to show that they can threaten the opponent when they are not on the court.
Odafe Oweh is an athletic monster who has shined, but he’s still figuring out how to push the passer consistently. Last year’s second-round pick, David Ojabo, will be in a position to make a contribution particularly this year, as he is even further away. due to the Achilles injury he suffered, but no one can guess how successful he will be. Tyus Bowser can be a useful component of a rotation.

The pieces they’ve put in combination seem to have good combination compatibility and can outperform the Browns, especially the Steelers’ talented defensive front, but it’s all theoretical at this point.

Currently, the Browns have the most productive corner organization in this division, so far. The other three organizations make significant adjustments or remake that position differently.
The other styles and structure types give them characteristics on how to protect their opponents. Denzel Ward will bounce back from the worst season of his career.
