The AFC North has one of the most productive divisions in football and the Baltimore Ravens sit at the top of it.
Dawgs Pound Daily ranked the AFC North groups and placed the Ravens in second place, presenting them as potential Super Bowl contenders. Baltimore was behind the Cincinnati Bengals. The Pittsburgh Steelers were just Baltimore and the Cleveland Browns were in last place.
“Let’s say this: If all goes well for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, they can be Super Bowl champions,” writes Dawg Pound Daily. “But there are a lot of things that want to happen. First of all, Lamar Jackson’s physical condition will have to remain perfectly intact. Jackson has to be out there and in good shape throughout the season. “
Jackson’s fitness is a million-dollar factor for Baltimore. If he can stay in shape, the Ravens have a chance to be one of the most productive teams in a packed AFC, but the former MVP’s fitness has a major question mark after lacking the finish of the past two seasons with lower-body injuries.
Jackson missed five games in 2021 and 2022 and is rarely the only Ravens player with question marks related to his health. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is coming off a torn ACL and has been plagued by injuries in his career. If they can stay healthy and pull off Todd Monken’s offense, Dawg Pound Daily likes their potential.
“These two things, on their own, are huge question marks,” writes the Dawg Pound Daily. “But, if they come to fruition, then the Ravens’ offense may be the most productive seen in a couple of years. “
With Jackson and OBJ healthy, and if the young players on Baltimore’s defense can stay healthy, the Ravens could sit atop the AFC North until the end of the season. And if all goes well, they could be the last team standing. .
