AFC Wimbledon midfielder Harry Pell has been accused of misconduct by the Football Association for allegedly throwing balls into a crowd of MK Dons supporters ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 2 match.
An overtime winner, Wimbledon’s Ronan Curtis, settled the clash between bitter rivals at Cherry Red Records Stadium.
However, hostilities began as soon as the warm-up with footage on social media showing Pell, who was an unused replacement in the 1-0 win, sending balls into the stands housing the travelling MK Dons support.
MK Dons’ Supporters’ Council has vowed to examine “the shocking remedy applied to its supporters” and Pell could now be punished.
An FA spokesperson said: “AFC Wimbledon’s Harry Pell has been accused of misconduct following his EFL Ligue 2 attack against Milton Keynes Dons.
“It is alleged that the midfielder acted inappropriately in the pre-match warm-up and he has until Monday, March 11 to respond. “
