Agreement reached: Piccini joins Valencia’s exodus with Atalanta signing

The exodus to Valencia continued when Italian foreigner Cristiano Piccini joined Atalanta on a one-season loan with a non-compulsory acquisition of 3 million euros.

According to a report through Marca, the italian club’s purchase option is mandatory and will feature its performances for the club this season.

Piccini’s last appearance with Los Che last August and he played in just 75 minutes last season before undergoing two knee operations.

It is the product of fiorentina’s youth academy, which spent time at Real Betis and Sporting CP before Valencia in 2018.

The departures of Valencia captain Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin to Villarreal from Los Che were shown last month, following the departure of star winger Ferran Torres to Manchester City and striker Rodrigo Moreno joined Leeds.

Reports mean monetary uncertainty means Los Che will have to cut its wage budget by 40% by 40% by next season, with 12 players from the club’s first team on sale this summer.
