The Red Devils announced the news in a post on their club’s official website this afternoon.
The 19-year-old was only able to make three appearances in her time at Everton. Her only appearance in the Barclays Women’s Super League was when she briefly came on as a late replacement in Everton’s 1–0 win at West Ham. United States in December.
Manchester United are expected to get more normal playing time for the player and the club will now be looking for a new opportunity for the next level of her development.
Aherne spent the last six years of his career at Manchester United after joining the club at the age of 13. She made her senior debut in last season’s 4–0 win over club Sheffield United in the Barclays Women’s Championship in the FA organising phase. You have a long and exciting ride ahead of you, but you want more minutes at the top point so you can move on to the next point.
Aherne’s next progression will be announced via Manchester United in due course.
