TORONTO, March 27, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario, fined an Ajax resident $5,000 for affixing a facsimile of an engineer’s seal on a building permit application and similar documents with the engineer’s wisdom or consent. .
NODSOL Inc. and its director, Nadeem Ismaili, submitted an application for a building permit and similar documents to the City of Peterborough. The application and documents used the seal of a professional engineer, the wisdom or consent of that professional engineer.
On February 5, 2024, Ismaili pleaded guilty to one count of violating segment 40(2)(c) of the Professional Engineers Act and NODSOL pleaded guilty to one count of violating segment 40(3)(b) of the Professional Engineers Act. Act on this conduct. Justice of the Peace Jason Mariasine fined Ismaili $5,000. NODSOL received a suspended sentence and two years of probation.
