Ajax’s rock band Sum will disband

Ajax’s biggest rock band stops.

Sum 41, which formed at Ajax in 1996 and has released seven studio albums (four of which have been rated platinum), announced on Monday that it will be disbanding after the end of its current world tour.

The band posted one on their official online page and on Twitter saying that being in Sum 41 “brought us some of the most productive times of our lives” and thanked their fans for the years of support.

“We are grateful to our fans, old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is difficult to express the love and respect we have for all of you and we seek to hear it from us first.

Deryck Whibley, the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, main songwriter, producer, founder and only constant member of the band, had suffered a number of physical disorders over the years, in addition to chronic back pain, but there is no explanation as to why cited for the breakup and the band promised to honor all contractual agreements before parting ways.

“We’re still finishing all of our upcoming tour dates this year and are about to release our new album, Heaven ? Hell, as well as one last world tour to celebrate. “

Sum is scheduled to tour the U. S. Coming to the U. S. this summer and fall with Simple Plan and The Offspring.

The band released their debut EP Half Hour of Power in 2000 and their first full-length album All Killer No Filler the following year. The album contained the single “Fat Lip”, which topped the Billboard charts and remains their biggest hit to date.

Sum 41, described as pop-punk (although many of their songs combine a variety of genres), is known for their constant touring, which most likely took into account the resolution to end the band. They have been nominated seven times for Juno Awards and have won twice: Group of the Year (2002) and Rock Album of the Year (Chuck, 2005).

Whibley, who is now married with two children, was previously married to fellow Canadian rock star Avril Lavigne. Whibley attended Exeter High School on Ajax, where he and his classmates were discovered while playing in an organization battle.

“For now, we are ahead of all the Skumfuks on the road and are excited about what the long term will bring for each of us,” the organization said in the statement. “Thank you for the 27 years of Sum 41. “
