The vast majority of the time, when a football team tries to make its way to the desperate area, the result is the protective team.
That’s not the case with Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, Alabama’s wild victory over Wetumpka on Friday.
According to AL. com, Wetumpka led 30-28 with 2. 9 seconds to play while Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa covered himself to take the slam from his own 41-yard line.
A short pass to the floor triggered a series of sides: the Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa complex before returning the ball and returning to the middle of the field. You can hear a frustrated viewer saying, “What are we doing?”
Then, in the ninth and final aspect, after a trio of Wetumpka defenders failed to jump the ball, a Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa player picked it up and took off on the right side with no one on theirs for the winning touchdown.
Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa coach Sam Adams told AL. com that his team practiced the game, “Bronco,” called Boise State, every Thursday.
