Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson believes they may have beaten Juventus after last night’s 1-1 draw.
Juve faced a very stubborn Genoa team, difficult to play when playing at home, and the Bianconeri may simply not triumph over their resistance.
Juve took the lead from the penalty spot and had more chances to secure victory. However, the men in black and white failed to locate the decisive goal, and Genoa, also keen to threaten the Old Woman, had their moments.
In the end, the match ended in a draw and the two clubs shared the spoils. Gudmundsson expressed confidence that they might have won and stated that if they lost, they would gladly settle for a draw.
He said, quoted via Tuttomercatoweb:
“I think it’s a very important point, we played well and compactly against a very important team like Juventus. I think we even had the chance to gain three points, but we’re holding on to this draw.”
Juve FC says
Because the game ended in a share of the spoils, Genoa can feel that they could have won, but we have ourselves to blame for not finishing them off when we had the chances to do so.
