Albian Ajeti: Celtic’s 4.5 million goals from West Ham with signing Odsonne Edouard

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Scottish champions after making 12 appearances in a year with the Hammers.

Ajeti is an admirer of Edward, who has scored goals in two seasons.

“He scored a lot of goals and I think he and I are going to play a game together,” he said.

Ajeti joined West Ham for 8 million pounds from Basel, for whom he scored 30 in two seasons.

He has only played three cup matches and nine substitutes in the English Premier League, but noted: “I am a regular player. I score goals, that’s what I do. I’m a strong striker, I love contact.”

“I don’t have any challenge to bet on two or three or alone. I’ve played on many other systems. The most important thing is to attack and that’s why it’s the best club for me.”

Ajeti, who has 10 international matches with his country, rose on the youth ladder in Basel, but was with Augsburg in the German elite and Swiss Super League rivals in St. Gallen before returning to St Jakob-Park in 2017.

He played alongside Mohamed Elyounoussi, the winger who returned to Glasgow at one point on loan from Southampton, and was encouraged to point celtic in pointing to Celtic through his former team-

As Celtic continues with its historic 10th consecutive league name and returns to the Champions League, Ajeti added: “I know what this season is like for Celtic, for the enthusiasts and for the club in general.

“There is a long way to go, but the team has the quality for this purpose at the end of the season.

“There’s one player on the aggregate who does need to play in the Champions League.”

Upon welcoming Ajeti to the club, Celtic manager Neil Lennon told his club that he has “admired him for a long time.”

“He’s a wonderful player with genuine quality,” he added. “He’s a smart, balanced footballer and a very intelligent finisher.”
