A nanny left crying after a good-hearted Aldi worker helped her pay for her Christmas shopping after they canceled her vacation.
Carole Parker visibly disappointed when she visited the Aldi store in Moreton, Wirral, on Christmas Eve because a planned break after a “difficult year” turned sour.
She and her husband Stephen had booked a week for Carole’s birthday and for Christmas in a static caravan from north Wales.
But just two hours after arriving at the site last Saturday (December 19), it was announced that Wales would be on lockdown due to high Covid-19 ratings, instead of December 28 as originally planned.
This meant carole and Stephen had to turn around and move directly to Woodchurch near Birkenhead.
But what worse the refusal of the owner of the static caravan to refund the charge of 500 euros of the caravan he had booked for the week.
Carole, 63, said: “My husband and I had a difficult year, so we left for my birthday on December 19th and for Christmas.
“Two hours after our arrival, there was a blockade in Wales, so we all had to leave.
“The owner said we wouldn’t get any refunds of the 500 euros because she had lost the business because other people hadn’t gone. “
At first, Carole, who has 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, was hoping that she could pay some or all of the money.
But then he learned that there was a clause in the agreement that meant it wasn’t possible.
She said: “When I went to Aldi to buy some pieces tonight, I started crying because I was so upset.
“One of the staff members who filled the shelves can see that I am disappointed and asked if I was okay. I told him what had happened.
“When I got to the box, I told her that the young woman who worked there had paid for some of my groceries.

“It wasn’t because I didn’t have cash and I didn’t ask for it. She just wanted to cheer me up.
“I was stunned. What a lovely user she is and it’s an honor for her family circle to do something like this to help me.
