LONDON – Alex Morgan’s debut at Tottenham would probably not last a few weeks, and the US lead claimed that a setback had prevented him from having a compatibility to play Arsenal in the Women’s Super League Derby in North London on Sunday.
The two-time World Cup winner joined Tottenham last month for this season to buy time for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, with the season in the United States interrupted by the pandemic.
But Morgan, who gave in to Charlie Elena Carrasco in May, hasn’t played since 2019.
“A little setback prevents me from doing what I love,” Morgan tweeted Sunday. “I look forward to being in the box with this equipment for the next few weeks. I literally can’t wait. “
