Amazon Washington Redskins products from your site – CNBC

July 8 (Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc said it would remove a portion of the Washington Redskins products, adding sweaters, T-shirts and jewelry, CNBC reported Wednesday, showing a note from the e-commerce giant to sellers.

According to the report, distributors had 48 hours to review and all products were reported through Amazon. (cnb.cx/2ZUy7ye)

Under increasing pressure from Native American sponsors and rights groups, Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder said last week that he would turn the call from the National Football League team whose roots date back to the 1930s.

The controversy over the team’s call has resurfaced in recent weeks amid social and racial justice protests across the United States following the death of George Floyd in police custody.
