Juventus have gained momentum in their pursuit of Thiago Motta as Bologna begin to prepare for a long run without him.
Motta stood out during his time at Bologna, attracting interest from big clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus and Liverpool.
While Bologna need him to stay, reports suggest that his permanence may simply depend on them qualifying for the Champions League this season.
Despite Bologna’s preference to retain him, Juventus remain determined to secure Motta as Max Allegri’s successor at the end of the season.
With Allegri on the verge of leaving and Motta still not extending his contract with Bologna, a move to Juventus seems plausible.
In anticipation of Motta’s departure, Bologna have already met at least two coaches to inform him.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Monza’s Raffaele Palladino and Venice’s Paolo Vanoli are among the candidates to continue the positive trajectory started through Motta.
Bologna remain convinced that Palladino or Vanoli can build on the foundations laid by Motta if he leaves for Juventus or the club.
