Memphis has lost two of its best-rated commitments to its highly rated 2021 category.
Three-star supporter Andrew Jones and three-star back defensive Tyrell Raby said Tuesday that they will withdraw from Memphis and reopen their recruitment, to statements in their Twitter feeds. Both committed to the Tigers in June.
Jones the highest ranked player in the Tigers category and Raby the fourth highest in composite ratings from 247Sports. Both players are from Louisiana, a state the Tigers have drafted well in recent years.
Jones and Raby also occupy positions that the Tigers have largely recruited this cycle. Memphis has commitments from 4 defensive backs and backs, the maximum of all defensive line positions.
The elegance of the Tigers in 2021 now ranks 49th in the 247Sports team ranking, which remains the most important in the school’s history.
Memphis may also lose some other major engagement in the three-star defensive finale Myron Green, presented through Ole Miss this month and predictions from 247Sports Crystal Ball make him point out with the Rebels.
Green ranks No. 1 defensively in the country’s high schools and number 15 in juCO in general through 247Sports.
