Liverpool’s plans to open up the ground for the expanded stand at Anfield Road have suffered a blow.
The stadium will not fully reopen until 2024, its capacity will remain at around 51,000 people.

The delay in the allocation of the Anfield Road stand extension is due to the original contractors, Buckingham Group, submitting a management application in August.
Liverpool have hired a new businessman, Rayner Rowen, in the hope that part of the stand can be opened in time for the Merseyside derby against Everton on October 21.
However, he abandoned this assignment. The aim is to ensure that the entire stand, which will eventually increase Anfield’s total capacity to 61,000 people, is in good condition in the new year.
Liverpool will touch on the enthusiasts who have already bought tickets for the Everton match regarding the changes.
The disruption caused by the replacement of contractors has created uncertainty around the £80 million renovation project.
Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan said (via the club’s official website): “What this means for fans is that until we have visibility of all the mandatory information, we will have the prestige quo for the rest of the calendar year. “
“This necessarily means that the capacity at Anfield will remain the same as in the last few home games we’ve seen this season, with the bottom point of the stand remaining open and the top point closed until the end of the Calfinishar year.
“We’re not going to be able to open in time for the Everton game or home games this calendar year. “
“There are so many other points that come into play in this discussion and review, so many pieces of the puzzle that we want to combine, so it’s just not imaginable at this point to combine a new timeline.
“And, frankly, we don’t need to create bad expectations. “
