Anibal Mejbri’s entourage has expressed its anger at his continued lack of time at Sevilla.
The Manchester United loane’s season got off to a good start, getting first-team opportunities and scoring a world-class goal against Brighton in September.
However, since the beginning of November, when he played in a Carabao Cup draw against Newcastle, the player has noticed his minutes drastically reduced and he was loaned to La Liga to play longer.
However, the player got off to a disastrous start with a yellow card in the first five minutes of his debut as his side collapsed in the 5-1 loss to Girona.
The Tunisian was then involved in an altercation with a teammate at school and even briefly excluded from the team.
Since then, the player has barely played, having played only 4 games for a total of 89 minutes since his winter transfer.
As a result, the Spanish Stadium claims to have been informed through resources close to Hannibal that they are desperately dissatisfied with the way his loan is going and are wondering about the decision-making of current Sevilla manager Quique Sanchez Flores.
“Aníbal Mejbri’s entourage has let ESTADIO Deportivo know that they do perceive this lack of ority in Sevilla FC and the ostracism to which Quique has subjected the footballer”.
His entourage “openly highlights the weaknesses of the coach’s approach” and believes that the Tunisian international’s absence in the first team “cannot be explained”.
“They don’t perceive Aníbal’s lack of opportunities” and that led them to question the solidity of Sevilla’s director, Víctor Orta.
“They say that Hannibal Mejbri’s career is regressing at Sevilla after this lack of minutes” and that the player will return to Manchester United “without having fulfilled the objective of growing in some other league, which, according to his environment, was better suited to his taste of play”.
It has already been advanced through The Peoples Person that the Andalusian club will use the €18 million option to buy the player this summer due to his poor functionality and monetary situation.
Unfortunately for United’s academy product, with just nine games left and Sevilla six points above the relegation zone, it doesn’t look very likely that the player will gain the manager’s buy-in anytime soon.
