Antonio Conte will return as coach of Inter Milan in the 2020–21 season, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian coach led the Nerazzurri to his overall points in Serie A and his first European final since 2010 in his first season.
“The club and Antonio Conte today had a constructive assembly focused on continuity and strategy, during which both sides laid the foundation for further work on the club’s project,” Inter wrote in one on the club’s website.
Even with their good luck on the field with their recent top club, they have begun to ask questions about Conte’s long career at the club in the run-up to the Europa League final against Sevilla. The player-turned-coach has criticized Inter in recent months. The remarkable maximum explosion occurred in pressure after a 2-0 win over Atalanta, where he introduced a diatribe claiming that the club had not done enough to protect itself and its players from criticism.
But when asked if he thought the Europa League final would be his last match as Inter manager, he simply evaded the question and said he was only looking to “take things one day at a time” and “enjoy this opportunity.”
Conte entered the fit a European trophy in his training résumé and left in the same state, Sevilla beating Inter 3-2 on Friday.
