Approach made: Chelsea tried to point to Inter Milan striker over the summer

Chelsea made the decision to point out Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martínez in the summer move-in window, according to Italian online page TMW.

Martínez scored 21 goals for Inter last season, as Antonio Conte’s men failed to achieve the Serie A title despite the Argentine’s most productive efforts against the arc.

The 23-year-old has now been connected to his manager’s former employer, Chelsea, and TMW claims there is a technique to look to signal it during the summer.

It is unclear what Chelsea’s intentions would be with Martinez, with Timo Werner acquired as the new major of goals, and Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz behind.

However, TMW states that there is still interest, although Martínez would only leave the San Siro if one of the two Titans of La Liga came to call: Barcelona and Real Madrid.

That leaves Chelsea with little chance of closing a deal, if that’s true, but you get the feeling that Frank Lampard will be satisfied with the characteristics he has at third place in the field.

If Chelsea had to integrate tactics with the kind of character it would probably take to point out Martinez, they would be in a better position to do so with a new headquarters.
