LeRoy Butler, former Green Bay packer, the inventor of The Lambeau Leap, loves to cook.
So much so that this father of seven children from Wisconsin cooks food for family, friends and customers, and has written six cookbooks and one more will be out this fall.
“I love doing national things,” said Butler, who used the number 36 to protect himself with the Super Bowl XXXI championship team. Today, he is a motivational speaker, author, sports commentator, podcaster and member of the Packers Hall of Fame.
Surprisingly, Butler has also amassed a large collection of pots and pans during the many years he cooks. The cumulative total is 1,834, plus or minus a frying pan or two, according to Butler’s sons, who tell it.

The football season in autumn is the best time to serve pork. Butler likes those chops with mashed potatoes.
Makes portions
