Arizona is off the beaten track to resurrect its football program.
New England Patriots quarterback coach Jedd Fisch was named wildcat coach on Wednesday.
Fisch is scheduled for 12:30 p. m. press conference.
Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the news.
Fisch, a self-taught coach with extensive experience in the NFL and universities, and San Jose State coach Brent Brennan were the finalists for the position.

Fisch, 44, was last trained in college in 2017 and left Michigan after two seasons to work as an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at UCLA.

Fisch is a New Jersey native who played football in high school or college. He had his first big break when he worked as a graduate assistant from 1999 to 2000 in Florida, his alma mater.
Fisch is believed to be a friend of AU President Robert C. Robbins, who obviously played a role in hiring.
