Arsenal should have their crucial third goal. Havertz heads straight at Kinsky. Then he and Sterling can’t make the most of Arsenal winning the ball back on the edge of Spurs’ box. Oh wow. That was coming! A corner is cleared to the edge of the box and Heung-min Son’s volley deflects into the bottom corner. After all of that early pressure from Arsenal it’s Tottenham who take the lead.
Djed Spence flies on the left wing and crosses Solanke, but Gabriel makes a very good touch to fall in a corner. Raya then made a bright backup to deny Kulusevski, while the corner falls towards him. Tottenham absolutely replaced but almost marked twice.

The ACL injury that Gabriel Jesus suffered opposite the man united in the FA Cup deserves to stay out of the gates for a while Arsenal are on an attacker in Kai Havertz. Arteta will have to place the right balance: the attack, with Martinelli and Trossard struggling to shape in large part and the pounds of injuries. Don’t be surprised if Arteta tries to play with Jorginho or Declan Rice in a more complex role to see them to pass them and the previous total team on the pitch.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are suffering from injuries and form as they lost at home to Newcastle and Manchester United in the semi-finals of the League Cup and the third round of the FA Cup in the last week. That new defeat on a penalty after Arsenal played a player for maximum part of the moment and all of the additional time, however, could not find a way to score. Arteta has also noted that injuries continue to pile up and Arsenal’s attacking unit is losing its star in Bukayo Saka and seriously lacking confidence. Those setbacks, they are Liverpool’s top Premier League contenders and can close Liverpool’s hole to just 4 issues with a win. All is not lost, however, the Gunners want a big win to get back on track.
As for Tottenham, Ange Posetcoglou has had to deal with a massive injury crisis to his defensive unit which has seen Spurs slump down the league and a top four finish is now looking unlikely. However, there have been some positive performances from youngsters thrust into the lineup week in, week out in recent weeks and beating Liverpool at home in the League Cup semifinal first leg last week gave Posetcoglou and his players plenty of confidence. If Spurs are going to have a chance of finishing in the top four they really need a big morale-boosting win ahead of a winnable run of games and hopefully getting some key players back from injuries soon.
