Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga will undergo a medical in Seville on Friday before joining the Spanish club on loan.
Lokonga is expected to join Sevilla for next season, with the option to make the move permanent next summer for around £10m.
If the Spanish club decides to move on with that option, Arsenal will maintain a 25 cent sell-on clause to collect more if Lokonga moves again.
The 24-year-old’s current contract expires next summer but there is an option to extend it for a further 12 months.
Lokonga joined Arsenal from Anderlecht in 2021 in a deal worth around £16m.
The Belgian got off to a steady start at the Emirates Stadium but recently dropped down the pecking order and spent last season on loan at Luton.
The Hatters were keen to retain Lokonga but their interest waned following their relegation from the Premier League.
As Standard Sport reported earlier this month, Sevilla showed interest in Lokonga this summer and are now in a position to sign their man.
The midfielder was eager to take the plunge, having wanted to play in Spain during his career, and is excited about the challenge of testing himself in La Liga.
Given Lokonga’s lack of minutes, Arsenal will be content to pay him £10m next summer, while the add-on clause will also guarantee them a long-term windfall.
