Arsenal and Chelsea in Dani Olmo move the war with the RB Leipzig star ‘seriously’

ARSENAL and Chelsea are reportedly battling to sign Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.

The Spanish midfielder, whose contract expires until 2027, will be reasonable as several European giants want.

Olmo, 25, joined the Bundesliga club from Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb in 2020 on a four-year contract and has scored 26 in 126 appearances for them.

Although Olmo signed a five-year contract extension last summer, the midfielder has said he is fit to leave Germany, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Chelsea are among the groups interested in Olmo as they look for his midfield.

The Blues have won just 3 of their 8 Premier League games this season and are 11th in the table lately.

But they are not the only ones looking to get their hands on the midfielder’s signature, as London rivals Arsenal are now keeping an eye on Olmo, according to the report.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have led the Gunners’ line this season, but they have scored three Premier League goals between them.

And Mikel Arteta could see an attacking midfielder like Olmo as a great ally in extending the number of goals.

However, the report showed that Olmo had made it clear that he was looking to return to his boyhood club, Barcelona.

The Spaniard left the La Liga giants in 2014 at the age of 16.

Barca coach Xavi Hernandez is reportedly a big fan of the academy graduate after his successful absence.

Leipzig have imposed a huge £60m release clause on their star man.

The maximum value label has been an obstacle for Barça, who have been suffering with Financial Fair Play rules lately.

As a result, the Spaniard’s long career is still up in the air: Real Madrid, Manchester City and Atletico are also interested in Olmo.
