Arsenal announce Willian walks out of Chelsea

Arsenal have finished signing Willian on a loose from Chelsea.

The Brazilian winger has put the pen into paco according to a three-year emirates contract of around 100,000 euros according to the week.

It is Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the summer when gunners coach sought to reform his team at the Emirates.

“I think he’s a player who can make a difference to us,” Arteta said.

“We’ve been looking at it for a few months, we had a transparent goal for the offensive midfielder and the winger positions [and] he’s a player who gives us a lot of versatility, he can play in three or four more positions.

“Enjoy everything in world football, but still have the ambition to come here and bring the club in its place.

“I was inspired by all the discussions I had with him and how much he wanted to come.”

Willian, 32, said goodbye to Chelsea after the Blues presented him with a two-year contract extension.

He wrote an open letter to the Stamford Bridge faithful after confirming his this weekend.

He wrote: “It was seven glorious years. In August 2013, when I won Chelsea’s offer,

“I convinced myself that’s where I had to play.Today I’m sure it’s the most productive decision.

“There were not many satisfied moments, some sad, there were trophies and it was very intense.

“However, beyond trophies, I learned a lot about myself.I’ve evolved a lot, a better player and a better person.

“Every time I had an educational session, each and every game, each and every minute that I spent in the locker room, I was learning.

“In fact, I am grateful to Chelsea enthusiasts for the loving way I was greeted at Stamford Bridge and for their help during my time at the club.

“There were also complaints, which is to be expected, but the vital thing is that the love and complaint prompted me to give everything in each and every educational session, in each and every match, to constantly improve until my last minute with a Chelsea shirt!

“The time has come to move on. I’m sure I’ll miss my teammates.I will miss all the club staff who have treated me like a son and I will miss the love.”

“I’m going with my head up, knowing that I’ve won things here and that I’ve done the most productive thing with the Chelsea shirt.

“My sincere thanks to all of you and May God bless you!Borges da Silva”.
