Arsenal begins talks with Brentford to point to David Raya

The 90Min reports that the Gunners are interested in an agreement to instruct Raya to reinforce her goalkeeper characteristics before Mikel Arteta’s first full season in charge.

The same article indicates that Arsenal are for the eventuality of Emiliano Martínez moving to Aston Villa as a component of a $20 million deal in the 2020 summer move-in window.

According to the same story, Arteta is willing to provide a trusted understudy to his starting goalkeeper Bernd Leno given the German international’s injury problems.

90Min claims that the head coach of Spain has put Raya on the most sensible of his wish list to update Martinez after the impressive performances of Brentford’s goalkeeper in the league.

He adds that Brentford doesn’t dare sell too many of his stars this summer, as he seems to be even better this season after his last loss in the championship playoffs last season.

Brentford would be willing to sell to Raya as long as Arsenal reached the value requested for the 24-year cap, according to the report.

Raya made appearances in all competitions in her debut season at Brentford following her move from Blackburn Rovers in 2019.

The Spanish goalkeeper has moved to Brentford as part of a 3 million pound contract with Blackburn Rovers and the championship team can make a significant profit if they sell Raya to Arsenal.

The Gunners’ goal spent seasons at Blackburn Rovers before moving to Brentford.
