Arsenal beat Juventus’ festival to sign Riccardo Calafiori, and can inflict even more frustration on the Italian giants.
Juventus were interested in signing Calafiori, but were convinced thanks to the loan of Mikel Arteta and decided to move to England to play with the Spaniard.
Arsenal struck a blow by beating Juventus with a talented Italian international, and with Arteta aiming to add a striker to his side, he may simply annoy them by signing to his targets.
It looks like Juventus winger Federico Chiesa will leave and has even been linked with Arsenal, but Arteta could make a splash by signing the player that Serie A heavyweights need to update him with.
Juventus are interested in a move for Fiorentina winger Nicolás González and Fabrizio Romano reveals talks could happen soon.
“Juventus contacted Nico González’s agents today, he is among the features as a new winger. Thiago Motta likes Nico and the player’s camp has opened the door to a possible move to Juventus. The discussions will continue,” he posted on X.

González stood out for Fiorentina last season, scoring 16 goals in 44 games in all competitions, and one of the two Argentine teams to win the Copa América.
Fiorentina need around £25m for the winger, who is also coveted through Atalanta, but it is reported that neither club can reach that figure at the moment. Arsenal still can, and Gonzalez can be a favourable option for Arteta’s desired striker.
González is 26 years old and has just completed his most productive crusade to date, with 12 goals in Serie A. Like Leandro Trossard, he is capable of betting on the most sensible team of three, but González is also left-footed and plays . most commonly on the right.
This can make him a very smart replacement for Bukayo Saka as he is more than capable of replacing the left or center forward.
Stats FBref names Arsenal star Trossard as the most similar player to González, however, the Argentine provides what the Belgian lacks in terms of speed and can be the flexible point of attack for Arteta’s entire team.
If Gonzalez is open to stepping away from Serie A, having also previously played in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, Arteta is expected to see him as a wild card as he looks for an option for Nico Williams.
