Olympique Lyonnais announced this afternoon that Arsenal’s goal, Houssem Aouar, would leave the club before Monday’s deadline.
Speculation about the long history of talented midfielder Aouar has, of course, been endemic this summer.
The 22-year-old enjoyed the perfect crusade at The Groupama Stadium in 2019/20, playing a key role when Lyon recovered from a disappointing Ligue 1 final to surprise the masses in the direction of the Champions League semi-finals.
Aouar demonstrated the elegant touch required in the middle of the park for Rudi García’s men, linking the defense to the attack with a point.
In total, in 41 appearances in all competitions, the Frenchman has amassed nine goals and 10 assists.

As such, it has not been unexpected since then to see some of the heavyweights of European football transfer to Aouar.
Previously, the most similar clubs were Manchester City and Juventus.
In months, however, a new contender has taken center level in the race for Aouar services.
The outfit in question? Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta is known to be looking for reinforcements in the middle of his team’s midfield, as hypotheses continue to revolve over Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi (the first of which is expected to be enrolled in Atletico Madrid shortly).

The leader of Arsenal’s manager’s goals, meanwhile, has long been Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid, and Aouar discussed above.
Skillful transfer Fabrizio Romano even went so far as to say that Arteta “in love” with The Lyonnais.
However, as mentioned above, if we have to believe in the last word of the French media on Saturday, then Arsenal’s hopes of scoring Aouar before Monday’s play deadline will have faded.
As shown through many media, which claim to have been contacted through Lyon itself, sales of Aouar and Memphis Depay were excluded:

In a live to the Progres, a Lyon spokesman added:
“The deadline has passed, neither Memphis nor Houssem will leave. They’ll work out and tomorrow they’ll be part of the team. “
