The summer window for foreign transfers did not end until Monday, with Arsenal making the biggest signature of the deadline by bringing Thomas Partey for about forty-five million pounds.
The Gunners had prioritized an agreement by Houssem Aouar of Lyon before the deadline, but moved to Thomas once he failed.
However, Arteta is still in the market for more creativity in midfield, and movement expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Szoboszlai is already on the club’s radar for long-term windows.
The 19-year-old has scored 3 goals and created 3 more in six Salzburg appearances this season, following his excellent form last season when he contributed 30 goals in 40 games.
Aouar remains Arsenal’s favourite target, but real Madrid and Manchester City’s rival interest has also led the Gunners to opportunities like Szoboszlai.
However, the Hungarian foreigner is also wanted in Europe, and Napoli, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain among the other clubs are expected to join him.
