Ajax director and former Arsenal star Marc Overmars said Donny van de Beek is “ready for this stage” when he completes his move to Manchester United.
The 23-year-old showed his move to Old Trafford on Wednesday as part of a 35 million pound deal, with another five million pounds, resulting in a big deal for the Red Devils.
Real Madrid and Barcelona had also shown interest in the Dutch during the previous year, however, United won the race to signal it after not being able to complete the play in January.
Overmars is not happy to see Ajax’s ability to leave the club, after Frenkie De Jong, Matthjis De Ligt and Hakim Ziyech walked out the door over the next year, but believes it’s a wonderful move for De Beek and is ready to be a Premier League. Success.
“It’s a wonderful move for Donny, a move she deserves,” Overmars said. Last summer there was a lot of interest, but fortunately we were able to keep it for another year.
“He’s in a position for this level and we’re going to miss him. “
De Beek spent his entire career at Ajax and the club sent him a special message after his departure was confirmed.
“You’ll be one of us,” Ajax tweeted. ” Good luck with your new dream. #DreamLikeDonny. “
Manchester United enthusiasts are now desperate to see how the Dutchman will have compatibility in the club’s midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.
Van de Beek appreciates the possibility of marrying Portuguese and French superstars and raising goals and assists for United.
“I’m seeing a lot [Pogba and Fernandes],” Van de Beek told Manchester United’s official website.
“There are a lot of smart players in the middle of the field and I can’t wait to play with them. It’ll be great and I’d enjoy betting with those kind of footballers.
“I’m a midfielder who likes to move on to races, passes, assists.
“Most of the time I redhead a lot of distance in matches, it’s also something that’s a strength for me, to get on the opponent’s surface.
“If you know me and the kind of player I am, my tastes and everything, I think I can have a mix with the club and the players.
“If you look at the players at the club, they’re young players, the same age as me, and I can’t wait to play with them. “
