Arsenal are reportedly likely to try to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi this summer.
The Gunners are expected to enter the market when the window opens.
While signing a new striker is considered the most sensible priority, they may also sign a midfielder.
And Caught Offside claims that Zubimendi is a target.
The Gunners have been with the Spaniard for more than a year.
Although Zubimendi has remained committed to Real Sociedad since renewing his contract 18 months ago, he may be tempted to leave this summer.
It’s possible that Arsenal will simply cancel his £51m release clause to close a deal quickly.
However, the starting point for negotiations will be smaller.
Zubimendi has been playing for Real Sociedad for more than thirteen years.
He joined the club’s academy at the age of 12 and rose through the ranks before making his first-team debut in April 2019.

Since then, the midfielder has made 186 appearances for the club.
Zubimendi has also been capped on occasion by the Spanish national team.
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
However, the midfielder is expected to be at Villa Park if Unai Emery’s side qualify for the Champions League.
